Summary

Watching movies in the park in Kyle.

Tonight we went over to the city park in Kyle for ’Movies in the Park’. They were showing Kung Fu Panda which none of us had ever seen, so we figured we would pack up a blanked and some snacks and head over.

It was a great night for it; the days around here have been over 100 degrees, but thankfully it’s been cooling off around sunset. We showed up early to get a good seat, so Asher played on the playground while we waited for the movie to start.

We all enjoyed the movie, it was pretty funny, although it did mean another late night for Asher.

Summary

Marcia, Asher and I visit downtown Austin to see the bats at night.

As strange as it sounds, for all the years that we’ve lived in Austin, we have never gone to see the bats come out at sunset at the Congress Street Bridge. Since Jill had class late tonight, Marcia, Asher and I piled into the car to go see if we could take a gander.

While Marcia was disappointed that they all didn’t fly out a one time, I still though that it was pretty cool that there was a continuous stream of bats flying out from under the bridge for a good 10 minutes.

Summary

I tag along with Brigham and Co. to the Houston Butterfly Museum.

Saturday afternoon Brigham invited me to go up with Stephanie and the kids to the Butterfly Museum in Houston. I didn’t have much else to do, so I grabbed the camera and headed out. Other than not seeing very many butterflies, the museum wasn’t bad. They had more stuff than one person could do in a lifetime, that’s for sure.

But Mason and the twins seemed to enjoy it fairly well so I’d write it off as an overall success.

Summary

Mom, Dad, Brigham and I go to the Houston Temple to do some temple work.

For my last weekend that Jill was gone in Wyoming, I headed down to Houston to visit the parents and see Spencer baptized. Saturday morning, mom, dad, Brig and I went to the Houston Temple to do some work.

Summary

Stopping by the car show for a few photos.

This weekend I went down to visit mom and dad since there was not a whole lot to do in Austin with Jill and Asher in Wyoming. The main task at hand was to fix up mom’s laptop which has gradually slowed down to molasses-like speeds. After a quick hard drive reformatting and 2 GB of RAM, it was up and running quite well.

On our way home from one of our errands, Dad and I decided to walk through the car show that is often held in the parking lot of Kroger. We saw a lot of great cars, though I had my hopes set high that I would see a classic Mini. Unfortunately, no one had brought one, though I did manage to grab a couple of quick photos of some nice cars.
