Summary

Kicking back and enjoying a meal.

I swear that I have no idea where Asher learned these types of table manners. Besides, at most I only have one leg up on the table, but this is ridiculous.

Summary

Asher flies through the air with the slightest of ease.

In light of the increasing temperatures across Texas, Jill and I have found ourselves seeking out any opportunity to cool down with a nice swim. So when our friends, Aaron and Katrina, invited us over to their place for some barbecue and swimming, we couldn’t say no. Asher really enjoyed himself, especially once we started tossing him back and forth across the pool.

As expected, Asher was sad when it was time to get out of the pool, though he cheered right up when we told him that we were going to go visit Pollux, Aaron and Katrina’s puppy.

Summary

A vivid electrical storms whips up around Austin.

Tonight we had some of the greatest storms that I’ve ever seen. It’s not so much that we got a lot of rain, (although the lawn was grateful for it) but more that we had so many lightning strikes that it was hard to keep track of them all.



By the end of the evening, I managed to snap this shot and only lose power at the house once.

Summary

Cooling off at the pool with family during the holiday.

This year for Memorial Day weekend, I was able to pull Jill away from her dissertation for a few days to take a quick trip down to Houston to visit friends and family. One of the things we go to do while we were down there was enjoy a mega-birthday swim party to celebrate everyone that had a birthday or will have a birthday in a few month’s time.

I was a party pooper and decided to stay dry and take photos, but everyone who got into the water had a blast. Unfortunately, Jill and I took off early to go visit our friends John and Shasta in their new home, but we still had a lot of fun.

Summary

Watching the Round Rock Express play at Dell Diamond.

Amidst the vast amounts of housework I’ve been doing, I was relieved when Brigham called me to tell me that he had scored some free tickets to the Round Rock Express baseball game. That night, the Express squared off against the Las Vegas 51’s in what proved to be another

The highlight of the evening, however, was how much fun Asher enjoyed running up and down the slope of the grassy fields behind the outfield. At times, it was tough to remember that there was even a game going on in the background.
