Summary

After 2 1/2 years, Asher gets his first official haircut.

Well, it finally happened. Asher has had his first ’official’ hair cut. Jill has been persistent in asking me to get it cut, so this morning I called over to the hair cutters and they had a morning opening so Asher and I rushed out to make the appointment.



Asher didn’t particularly enjoy the experience, and I can’t blame him, I’d be upset too if someone was cutting off all my golden locks, but he’s happy to have his hair out of his eyes.

Summary

A picnic in the park over the Easter weekend.

This weekend is shaping up to be a lot of fun. Mom and Dad came into town on Wednesday because Dad had meetings to attend for work, but they decided to spend the remainder of the week with us hanging out and helping us around the house. On Friday, Dad and Jill came up with the idea to invite Brig and company to head over to the park and have a nice picnic lunch.

The park was a lot of fun and had several cool things to see an do, including a big playscape, a pond, and even a old school windmill.

Summary

With warm weather making a comeback, Asher enjoys his swing.

We have been spending a lot of time outside recently trying to get the yard ready for the spring. Fortunately, Asher has been doing a great job of keeping himself entertained on the swing set while Jill and I mow, weed and trim our landscaping into shape.

Of course from time to time he insists that we join him, so I decided to grab the camera and capture some of the fun.

Summary

Bitterly cold weather befalls a Texas State footbal scrimmage.

Despite the great weather that we enjoyed all week, today was absolutely miserable as we headed down to Bobcat stadium to watch the Texas State football team play its first scrimmage of the season.

While it was fun to get a football fix so early in the year, the 35 degree weather forced us to cut the evening short and head home to get some hot chocolate.

Summary

The Longhorns take on the Bobcats in a grueling baseball game.

Okay, so while many would never consider UT and Texas State arch rivals when it comes to sports (we all know who the superior team is, right?), there is a bit of rivalry around the house when we have the opportunity to see my alma mater square up against Jill’s. So tonight we packed up the car and headed over to the baseball stadium to see the Longhorns battle it out against the Bobcats in what turned out to be a much closer game than I was hoping.

The Longhorns prevailed (eventually) and while we were only able to stay through the 6th inning, we had a lot of fun. And as the pictures will point out, at least Asher has made the wise decision to follow in my footsteps and support the Longhorns.
